Creating something from nothing is so rewarding, especially when my mind or body needs healing.
I begin by meditating. When an empty receptive, mind is achieved, relinquished of self-criticism, I see a blank canvas waiting to come alive. Each brush stroke becomes a ceremony in sacred time and space. Pro-creating is my drug of choice.
When oils decide to play on my canvas they speak of substance in my tangible world of realism, yet watercolors are reminding me to go-with-the-flow in everyday circumstances.
If pen and ink tap dance into my studio I make quick sketches of rough ideas, abstract or permanent as they may seem.
When mixed mediums gather around my workspace waiting to be noticed, anything can happen. I follow my instincts without plan or reason until various objects fall in place and come together. The scattered or missing parts of my life, finally joined as one masterpiece. This unplanned phenomenon stimulates the senses.
But when Spirit, archetypal images, or souls from the other side pop into my energy field unannounced, mediumship artwork is in progress and I am acknowleged.
Handpainted, Quilted, Embellished, Fabric Designs
When my childlike world of fantasy and whimsy is awakened, fabric designs take center stage. The mind runs wild with characters that breathe into me and come alive.
A variety of fabrics are tossed together with rhythms of brilliant or muted colors, are handpainted, quilted, and embellished with a distinct personality or message to communicate.

When I'm excited about a new idea and want to make it real, I ground myself to Mother Earth with clay. My muddy hands get a work out pounding it, rolling it, molding it, then score in with detail, and bake it. A new creation is born.
I use my creativity as Medicine for survival. I use wood to cut through a negative emotion until it becomes a positive symbol of my existence. It's beneficial in balancing my mental-emotional well being. I cut, carve, whittle, sand, and stain a random piece of wood until it satisfies a fundamental need within. It's my spiritual connection with the Divine.
